The Greater Toronto Area continues to deliver sounds that defy easy categorization, and the latest release from 9Balaclava is the perfect example. The artist, who serves as a triple threat by producing, recording, and mixing the track himself, has just dropped the official music video for his smooth R&B/Rap crossover single, "Make It Work."
If you're looking for that signature blend of hard-hitting rap sensibility and infectious Caribbean/Reggae vibes, the sound that truly defines the diverse soundscape of the GTA, this is it.
"Make It Work" leans into that addictive, contemporary Cash Cobain style R&B groove, but elevates it with a deep infusion of island rhythm. This seamless blend creates a track that is simultaneously street ready and effortlessly romantic, a truly smooth love song built on a complex rhythmic foundation.
The track gets an added layer of flavor and authenticity with a feature from Jag.Huligin, whose presence helps cement the cross-genre appeal, making "Make It Work" the perfect soundtrack for late-night drives or summer link-ups.
The official music video, available now on YouTube, brings the track’s smooth energy to life. Shot and edited by the talented @jay._batson, the visual captures the magnetic chemistry and effortless style that defines the song.
